FOR ALL: Open Education Summit , at the Avon Williams Educational Site. The two-day technology event will explore the heart of innovation, with the goal of show casing how artificial intelligence is within reach for everyone. During the opening session, TSUs AI robotic dog Blue and his pup greeted the crowd. The AI dogs will be making appearances throughout the summit. Dr Brown’s selection is the first time in Tuskegee’s nearly 143-year history that an alum will lead the university. He will begin his tenure on July 1. The Board of Trustees approved the retired Air Force Major General’s nomination after several talented leaders stepped forward to succeed Dr. Charlotte P. Morris, the university’s ninth president. By Kathryn Geiger Several members of California’s Legislative Black Caucus launched a statewide tour in San Diego Saturday to promote a slate of 14 reparations bills, including a measure that could change the state constitution to end forced prison labor. That measure and several others designed to mitigate the effects of racism and slavery will face important legislative deadlines in the next two weeks. A leader at one Raleigh HBCU says that if the powers that be have their way, its two HBCUs would become one. Brian Boulware, currently the Chairman of Saint Augustine’s University’s Board of Trustees, released a four-page letter that states that the powers that be in North Carolina’s capital are looking to force a merger between his school and neighboring HBCU Shaw University.
