At 32 years old, Hayes secured her first Olympic medal as a member of the USA track team in the women’s 4x400m relay. By Divya Kumar The newly appointed interim president of Florida A&M University has called on senior leaders of the state’s only public, historically Black college or university to resign, two weeks before the start of the fall semester. Timothy Beard, who was confirmed as interim president at the end of July, sent a letter Monday asking for resignations by the end of Tuesday. Susan Thrasher has been selected to serve as the program’s inaugural director. The new academic program consists of five semesters of study. Once the curriculum and experiential learning training requirements are completed, students can take a certification test from the National Board for Medical Assisting of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
