By Nyah Peebles LeBron James’ talk show, “The Shop UNINTERRUPTED,” is hitting the road and visiting three HBCUs this homecoming season. “The Shop UNINTERRUPTED,” is an unfiltered discussion featuring some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment. LeBron James and a variety of special guests gather in various barber shops to speak honestly on sports, music, pop culture, and more. By Kyra Purvis, Those living in Calhoun County, Alabama have received increased access to affordable health care. The St. Michael’s Medical Clinic has been expanded and is now the Dr. David Satcher and St. Michael’s Medical Clinic and Community Learning Center. The expansion comes from investments made by the city of Anniston and Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center (RMC) Health Systems. The new clinic opened its doors to the public on November 6 at its new location on Mulberry Avenue. The clinic is categorized as a free and charitable clinic, meaning all services are offered at no cost to the patient. In a departure from fashion industry standards, the global clothing and beauty brand now purchases cotton directly from four Alabama family farms – one Black-owned, and three women-owned. The initiative eliminates intermediaries to ensure farmers receive all proceeds from their crops which in turn supports their land and communities. Serena Williams and Ruby Bridges will be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame next year, the hall announced Thursday, adding the tennis great and civil rights icon to a previously announced list of women to be honored during Women’s History Month in March. “The 2024 inductee class has broken barriers, challenged the status quo, and left an impact on history,” the Hall of Fame said in its announcement.
